Steven N. Wynkoop

Steve Wynkoop is president of Energy Business Communications, LLC. He has a professional and business background that encompasses journalism, public relations, nuclear energy, electric utilities, and management, as well as business ownership and development.  Recently, he was a consulting conference producer for Electric Utility Consultants, Inc. (EUCI), while adding a second bachelor’s degree to his educational resume.

Mr. Wynkoop was a reporter and editor at The Denver Post; a Washington-based policy analyst for the Government Research Corp. ; Washington Editor of McGraw-Hill’s Nucleonics Week and a contributing editor to Nuclear Fuel and Inside DOE; manager of media relations at Tennessee Valley Authority, Knoxville, TN; and a member of the management team at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations and a certified INPO evaluator in the area of emergency planning and communications.  He has been a consultant to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and a business owner in the fields of printing, graphics and Internet publishing.

He is a graduate of the University of Colorado, BA sociology 1967; a Stanford University Professional Journalism Fellow, 1976; and is an honors 2010 finance graduate of Metropolitan State College in Denver.

Retiring in 2001, Mr. Wynkoop pursued a number of interests before returning to college in 2005 and, more recently, he has been active with the Denver office of the Institute of International Education. He and his wife live in Denver.  He has a daughter, who is married and lives in Los Angeles. Mr. Wynkoop speaks Spanish and Italian.
